TrespassersW the entire point of the post was to prove that racist thinking is not a republican or democrat thing.

and no one branded a state with anything.
no one branded anyone with anything.
where do you get this from?

I had just shown that most of the democrats in the south had voted againt the civil rights bill. during that time i had even shown that most of the southern states were democrat.

somone claimed that violence was prevelant in the southern states. i offered support of the fact.

it was everywhere.
it was just more overt in the south.

it was a regional thing for other reasons not republican reasons. The South got branded as racist from the Confederate States of America being in the south and them wanting slavery. "Historians phrase the cause of secession as either the threat to restrict or end slavery by the Republicans" the "racist south" was fighing against the republicans who wanted to end slavery.

so you are back to my point of it being liberal and conservative thinking. which is what the thread began about. not republican democrat.

Also, thanks for the list of atrocities. Where do I find the voter registration of the individuals who committed these acts, so we can learn to which party they belonged? Wink

you are hilarious

but here's something for everyone that further speaks to your point in defense of the republican party and the racism in the south

http://www.uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/
this shows a national democrat/republican voting map of every presidential election

the liberals are simply saying that more liberal/ individual rights thinking has proven to do pretty good things in America.

so all in all if you look at the history of it all...

the republican party newly has way less liberal thinkng.
and the democratic party now has more liberal thinking.

so if you republicans come back to the light we will live in liberal mecca. aka heaven in America.

are you ready TrespassersW to go back to your liberal republican roots? Very Happy

P.S...that is as soon as you want to get out of Iraq, curse FOX news, think Lou Dobbs is the next savior, legalize all abortion, and love liberals Laughing (j/k)

I tend to jump on anything that looks like an uninformed or unsupportable opinion. Since most of those I see in these forums tend to come from what is considered to be a liberal point of view, that paints me as the person taking the conservative position. (Sometimes that's true, and others I'm just decrying the stupidity of the liberal position being taken, as opposed to advocating for the opposing position.) So, I can understand your mistake, but in all honesty, whether you think me a conservative or a liberal has a great deal to do with the issue being discussed.
