That's a false dichotomy. The FBI's ability to turn my cellphone into a snooping device has nothing to do with the likelihood of my dying.

...yes, that's definitely off subject. My cellphone irradiates my brain and fries my sperm regardless of whether it is the FBI using it or me using it.

Maybe not to you directly, but I am gonna have to assume that they are not gonna randomly bug someone... It would be on follow up leads from info. And who knows maybe they tap the guy that plans to kill you? If thats true your looking at a great preventation.

Yup.

And that's what warrants are for.

I guess i've been assuming that we're talking about warrantless FBI snooping. I have no problem with their hijacking people's cellphones if they've got a warrant for it; it's no different than manually placing bugs, or tapping phone lines.

They don't NEED warrants anymore, national security can let them take anyone off the streets and hold them WITHOUT charge.

WARRANTLESS search and seizure, THAT is what is possible here, that is what is HAPPENING. At the MOMENT. Right NOW.

Also, I looked at all the Amendments and it seems at LEAST 8 of them are broken since 9/11.

lolLester

Lester mightve only reminded me of the fourth Amendment(Protection from unreasonable search and seizure.) But, Hey. They have broken the fourth since it pretty much says you can go in only if they might've found like Drugs, Weapons, Humans/Animals being mistreated, and so on. Now they don't need a reason. They can just walk. If they might think this person looked like a muslim since he doesnt shave. Then they can just walk and and look around.

It seems like facis... -School bell rings- :p lol

The Bill of Rights sadly provides no protection for anyone declared an enemy combatant.

Not since the Patriot Act and well, a whole bunch of other legislature that has been ratified since 9/11.

Which is why we, as decent humans, ought to extend those rights of our own volition.

I hear every phone has a GPS signal as well. Also, has anyone heard about the camera's in Britain. I read something yesterday talking about an experiment they were doing on about 7 of the public surveillance cameras. They are mounting speakers and barking down at people for violating minor laws and whatnots. Is that big brother or what?
for some reason, that was on good morning america, and thats now in the u.s. with the camras at trafic lights and stuff taking pictures of you, they may not have the speakers but its the same idea, and the thing in the u.k. on good morning america it had like one pole with about 10 camras on it, and they said they are going to have it nation wide there or something

Just because you've got nothing to hide doesn't mean you want them listening to you.
