I am trying to see if there is a correlation between tax burdens and unemployment.

my data on unemployment comes from here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L.....yment_rate

my data on tax burdens comes from here:
http://www.taxfoundation.org/news/show/335.html

-------------------------------------------

Here is the spreadsheet I made up. anyone can view it and edit it.
http://spreadsheets.google.com.....&hl=en

Frankly, the data doesn't show much. The ten states with the worst unemployment had a tax burden of 10.52 and the ten best states for unemployment had a tax burden of 10.21. I don't know how significant of a difference that is.

Alaska is one state that flummoxed me. It has the lowest tax burden but is quite high on the unemployment list. Hawaii is vice versa.

oh well.
