Exposes the lies of the administration?
Let me get this straight..
This man who said it was a "Slam Dunk" that Iraq had WMD's, and whose job it was to be sure all the information that he provides to the President is good, wants to tell us how Bush lied about the Iraq war?
This man's job was to gather intelligence about Iraq and provide that to the President. The intelligence that he provided to the President said that there were WMD's being manufactured in Iraq, and that they were funding al Qaeda.
Quote: |
According to a report by veteran investigative journalist Bob Woodward in his book Plan of Attack, Tenet privately lent his personal authority to the intelligence reports about weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) in Iraq. At a meeting on December 12, 2002, he assured the President that the evidence against Saddam Hussein amounted to a "slam dunk case" After several months of refusing to confirm this statement, Tenet later stated that this remark was taken out of context. (Tenet indicated that the comment was made pursuant to a discussion about how to convince the American people to support invading Iraq, and that, in his opinion, the best way to convince the people would be by explaining the dangers posed by Iraq's "weapons of mass destruction." i.e., the public relations sale of the war via the WMD, according to Tenet, would be a "slam dunk"). |
Yes, let's take this man's word for it...

judging from the evidence, my pet goat is probably one of the most important reads in history.

Reading it now. As far as I'm concerned so far...
he should be brought up on charges.
He incriminated himself.
(condi, cheney, the president, and tenet should be impeached in the morning. only reason i spare powell is because he left when he saw the crap)

That Medal of Freedom he got was to reward him keeping his mouth shut. I am sure that there was some hush money involved too. I guess some people in DC actually do have a conscience.

In order for the truth to come out, somebody had to bite the bullet. It is best that it was him. I can only imagine what was going through his mind as he sat behind Colin Powell as he delivered his address to the UN.
