To me this shouldn't be a left or right issue...just common sense.
Tell me if you disagree.

"A federal panel voted yesterday to begin developing a national standard that could result in the gradual phasing out of the paperless electronic voting machines in use across the Washington region and in many parts of the country.

The 'next generation' of voting systems should have an independent means of verifying election results, the Technical Guidelines Development Committee said. The standard would have to be adopted by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission....The commission and its advisory panel have yet to determine when the new standard would go into effect and how it would apply."

"The people who cast the votes do not decide an election, the people who count the votes do."~Joseph Stalin

Honestly, what difference does it make. Gore won the popular vote in 2000.

You and I are in complete agreement.

No matter what measures they try to take if someone really wants to rig it, they'll find a way. IMO

I seriously have complete and total faith in our governmental election system and it shouldn't matter whether it's electronic or not. and </sarcasm>

electronic voting is a pretty stupid road to tread. It can only lead to bad things, especially with the government as a whole becomning as corrupt as it has in the past 15-20 years. I'd have to say that Stalin quote was quite accurate.
