I am a 37 year old drop out, lol. I used to have a 9-5 job and decided to finally go for my dream. So I dropped out of the business world began working on becoming self suffient (my ever elusive goal). Above all else I believe in freedom. I don't trust either the republicans or the democrats to protect my freedoms. I vote Libertarian. I relate well to REAL conservatives and hold very liberal ideas. I believe charity begins at home and the government shouldn't be a charity. I believe that in the land of the free, a true measure of how our country is doing is how we treat our most vulnerable. I am an artist and songwriter. I raise chickens, goats, gardens and four sons. I am a full time stay at home dad. I am happily married to a younger woman. I am a self styled pagan. I believe in the right of personal property. I believe the constitution holds all the answers to our countries problems, just as our forefathers wrote it. I believe in a persons right to buy and consume any product he/she so choses. I believe the republicans want to take away all our freedoms to make us "safe" and democrats want to take them all away to make us "equal". I believe voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil. I believe I will shut up.

Welcome Irish, it's strange how hard it is to be self sufficient ain't it? You'd think it would be easy and yet when you try and go through it in your head it seems rather elusive.

Also hi to UncleAl, which magazine did you edit?

I kinda introduced myself in another thread, but I'll make it official here.

My name is Mike, I'm 21 years old (22 on April 7th), and I've been in the Army for about a year now.

I'm conservative in nature, tending to call myself a conservative independent rather than a Republican. Right now the Republican party seems to be close(r) to my ideology.

I studied Business Administration and Political Science at East Tennessee State University until 2006, when a flaw in the financial aide system "lost" my money for school.

I joined the Army because it had always been my intention to join later on, and since college got pushed to the wayside for 2 full-time jobs, and single/no-college-degree life, the Army was a good career path.

I am a connoisseur of sorts...alcohol, tobacco, and wine (I consider wine to be of a different category than alcohol).

When it comes to debate, I love every aspect of it. I usually debate civilly but if confronted enough times with stupid responses or flat-out attacks I'll come out swinging with complete disregard for feelings.

Anything else you'd like to know, just ask.

Hello all. I missed this thread and I'm sorry for not posting here first.

I'm a 30 year old father of 2. I've been married for 13 years working on 14. I am an emissions lab supervisor and technician for the largest manufacturer of consumer line trimmers and chain saws in the world. I am a Christian conservative from a little town in Arkansas that is about 17 miles north of Hope Arkansas.

I'm pretty much an open book so if there are any questions anyone has for me I'm always happy to share.

Hello to all you political junkies. My name is Al and I'm a retired magazine editor. My politics are somewhat right of center but consider myself an independent. I have never voted a straight ticket in a national election. In addition to being a political junkie, I am an avid hunter (deer, turkey, bear and elk). I also enjoy a variety of other outdoor activities. Additionally, I enjoy woodworking, carpentry, reading, cooking & baking, and do some fishing.

Hi Al!

Hello to all...
I've been mouthing off for a good while but as yet have failed to introduce myself
I'm a 40 yr old South Floridian and am working in the Medical field with a past in Secondary Ed
and writing
(I still tell myself that I'm writing but unfortunately don't have the time)
I am intrigued at the time we're living in because it's at one time very interesting with all the vast changes that have occured in a very short period of time and at the same time it's very scary...because we're being lied to so often and so blatantly

Hello joeyjock. I am filling in for Lester, since he is a sunless heathen, and refuses to recognize our time here in the US. Usually he is the welcoming commitee. As of late, I have been carrying him so much now that I am starting to feel like the friggin' U.S.O. Welcome to LvC! Smile
