How if forcing people to not do porn NOT opressive?

That's a copout. Pornagraphy is an exploitation of men and women (mostly women) for nothing more then someone's sick pleasure. It's visual slavery. It demeens men and women (mostly women) and makes them into property instead of human beings.

Before I started this website, I was involved in the adult industry.

The bottom line is, many people like porn...if there is a demand for something, then there is a supply.

If someone is willing to be in an adult film, then obviously, they themselves, don't find it demeaning and it shouldn't be a problem.

I relate porn to strippers, many strippers find it empowering to do their jobs, they make money out of mans inability to control himself in the face of eroticism, they are basically showing their superiority.

You also forget that many women(and men) fantasize about being filmed, what is wrong with granting them that fantasy?

I thought you were a big fan of the free market. Porn is entirely the result of the free market.

And it can't be slavery, because it is consentual. You may find it distasteful, but that's entirely different from being unethical, or equivilant to slavery.

Hey, Look what I can do to the spider mans post:

The bible is an exploitation of men and women (mostly women) for nothing more then someone's sick pleasure. It's visual slavery. It demeens men and women (mostly women) and makes them into property instead of human beings.

HA! It's like the "in bed" game!!... Look, I'll do another one:

Fox News is an exploitation of men and women (mostly liberals) for nothing more then someone's sick pleasure. It's visual slavery. It demeens men and women (mostly liberals) and makes them into property instead of human beings.

HA,HA!! This is fun -- "in bed"!!! HA!

I believe Woody Allen is called for.

"A ''Bay Area Bisexual'' told me I didn't quite coincide with either of her desires."

Pornography in itself isn't wrong. Often, however, its method of production is oppressive to its workers, who are forced into that line of work for survival, much like prostitution. But again, that's a specific issue that could be corrected, not a condemnation of pornography itself.

on a side note, however, why is it legally different to pay someone for sex, and to pay someone to appear in a video in which they have sex?
