Fox News political analyst Dick Morris falsely claimed that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) has "never introduced a bill" in Congress. In fact, according to the Library of Congress' THOMAS legislative database, Obama was the primary sponsor of 152 bills and resolutions introduced in the last Congress.

How can they legally do this? Seems like they just spit out "facts" with no sources in hopes that they sway a few uneducated fox news fans?

Yeah but they could pretend that was a mistake... despite the convenient little boy scandal timing.

They could say the same of the bill thing.

There's no plausible end to stupidity and incompetance. They can blame it for anything.

And they may very well be telling the truth.

I doubt they intentionally lied in this case.
I think they're just making shit up, regardless of whether or not it is true.

Making up facts off the top of your head and claiming that they're true IS intentionally lying. If I tell you that denim causes breast cancer, that's a lie. i dont know for sure if it isnt true, because i didnt do the research, but cmon, it cant be.

If only people didn't believe everything they saw, we wouldn't have this problem.

Bill O'Reilly is notorious for making up facts off the top of his head followed by him actually saying..."FACT!" when time and time again, his statements were proven to have no legitimate value.

Well you know what they say; "If people hear it enough times, they will start to believe it"

Not quite.

In order to lie, you must intend to deceive - you must intend that people believe something that is false.

What they do is not intended to deceive. What they want to do is manipulate public opinion; their fictional claims serve that purpose regardless of whether or not they're true. They don't care about whether or no it's true; maybe it's true, maybe it isn't. Doesn't matter.

It's a separate phenomenon called "bullshitting".

That's the same reason Bill puts the exact words he's saying next to his head while he says them.

This is outrageous. This is a blatant attempt to generate a negative belief base on Obama because conservatives know he poses a threat. And even if you don't believe that its still a lie!

Please visit fox news website and e-mail Fox News Live and demand at least a correction of the comments made on their show by Dick Morris.

I already have.

While I think Obama is inexperienced and would not make a good president, I am not surprised that Faux News is at it again lying about people. Faux is truly the BS station.

You're right, I'm writing one, and I'd encourage anyone of any political viewpoint who favors honesty (which is all of us I think) to do the same.
